
Lars Johnson
As General Manager of Collaboration Copilot, Lars Johnson is responsible for all aspects of the commercial marketing and growth strategy for a portfolio of large-scale collaboration products including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Project & Visio, with an emphasis on the transformation of our products to the era of Copilot with GenAI. His mission is to help customers achieve the promise of AI and hybrid work, with technology and behavioral change at the center.
Lars joined Microsoft in 2004 and has been instrumental in business growth shifts of unparalleled global scale. His notable work includes the transition of 100M+ Office business users to the cloud with Office 365, the redefinition of the Microsoft’s business model to cloud subscription, premium market expansion into security, and the creation of Microsoft 365, which brought together Office, Windows, and IT value into a single solution.
Lars graduated from Duke University with a focus in markets and management and has since continued his business and marketing education with programs at Wharton and Kellogg. Outside of work, Lars enjoys traveling and organizing memorable social events, such as a Dîner en Blanc Seattle which was celebrated by 1600 guests in support of Seattle Parks. Lars has an “active” family life and is married to Shannon of 20 years, with three children Finn (12), Reid (10), and Ella (6).
